European Championship of Bingo

PaddyPower.com, the Irish online gaming operator, organised its first European Championships of Bingo this summer to coincide with the European football Championships taking place at the same time. It attracted 660 players, an indication of how popular online bingo now is.

Despite England even failing to qualify for the finals of the European Championship football tournament, the English have at least won one European Championship this summer. Englishman Robert Robinson of Nottinghamshire was the lucky winner of this inaugural European Championships of Bingo.

He won the first prize which was a brand new Chevrolet Aveo car. The top ten players all received prizes and other prizes included free flights for a year, free bingo for a year, a home makeover and a weekend for two in Paris.

A series of two hour qualifying games decided which players made the final on 29th June.

Robinson said after his win, “I’m glad England weren’t in Euro 2008 or I might not have entered and won the car.”

Due to the high number of entrants PaddyPower.com have announced they will hold the event again next year.
